  • Health in all its forms

Scientific director: Evelyne Fouquereau (QUALIPSY), Concetta Pennuto (CESR)

    Research field 2024-2028

The title of the “Health in all its forms” axis is based on the definition of “health” given in the World Health Organization (WHO) Constitution: “health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”. This axis aims to federate a group of researchers from different disciplinary fields who wish to work on themes and issues dealing with the relationship between human sciences and health through transversal, longitudinal (cohort and health trajectory follow-up) and processual approaches, integrative (positive and negative health indicators), multidimensional (somatic, psychological, social, cultural … ), and multidisciplinary (health, biology, pharmacy, law, psychology, food, history, philosophy, geography, sociology, anthropology, economics, literature, arts, sports …).

Within this framework, the participants in the construction of the axis propose a reflection around key notions such as the person, the actors of health, the environment, innovation, health democracy, governance. These notions allow for a shared reflection on the culture of health and a society in evolution in time and space, by questioning the powers, the equitable distribution of care, health practices, access to information and health education, and the factors of protection and vulnerability of people, quality of life, life stages, psychosocial resources in the environment, health risks, renaturation policies, food vulnerability, urban spaces, health technologies, artificial intelligence, drug innovations, e-health, and health entrepreneurship.

The axis aims at a participatory approach in applied and fundamental research, with the diversified framework that characterizes it thanks to the multiplicity of approaches and scientific contributions. The collaboration between the researchers involved in this axis will lead to work on federating themes thanks to a research project mode of operation, in order to obtain funding allowing the valorization of our work on these themes. Study days, seminars and workshops could be organized to build together the reflection and share our research. For some of them, the objective could be to initiate studies with an applicative aim in order to contribute to the development and/or the improvement of devices for the preservation, restoration and optimization of the health of the populations concerned (e.g., legal tools in the service of health, physical activity and well-being, device for raising the awareness of local elected officials to the challenges of aging). For others, the research could lead to collective publications, to the creation of scientific partnerships at the national and international levels, as well as to the constitution of socio-economic-cultural partnerships at the local level.
