The Conference ‘New trends in mining archaeology and archaeometallurgy: Czech and French perspectives’ is organized at the annual meeting of SAFEMM (Société Archéologique Française d’Étude des Mines et de la Métallurgie), the French association for the archaeological study of mining and metallurgy. This WP will play a central role in the programme and will be addressed in several sessions, including through COCO researchers Jiří Macháček (University of Brno) and Alexandre Disser (Paris-Saclay University).

The conference is organised by SAFEMM, the University of Brno, the Czech Academy of Sciences, and Paris-Saclay University, bringing together French and Czech researchers working on iron metallurgy, mining archaeology and archaeometallurgy, and addresses the circulation of iron products, technical knowledge and international research collaboration.
