Assuming the central role of narratives in communicative interaction, with highly relevant effects on the construction and negotiation of identity and interpersonal relationships, this workshop aims to explore the narrative mode of talk-in-interaction from three complementary applied perspectives. First, we will reflect on the strategies of (collaborative) construction of narratives that operate in conflict mediation across various domains (family and penal mediation; couple therapy). Second, several contributions will focus on the use of narratives as an instrument and/or evidence of accessibility and inclusion, especially in contexts of diverse vulnerability (attention to and integration of disability; attention to minoritized and vulnerable groups; etc.). Finally, we will examine how narratives are approached in pedagogical contexts of foreign language teaching/learning, where they emerge as key strategies of linguistic and cultural mediation.
